IgNobel – Research that makes people LAUGH and then THINK

Engineers who invented a brassiere that converts quickly into a gas mask and pathologists who determined that beer bottles can crack your skull even when empty have both picked up “IgNobel” prizes.

The aim of the igNoble prize is make people laugh, then make them think. To spur people’s curiosity, and to raise the question: How do you decide what’s important and what’s not, and what’s real and what’s not — in science and everywhere else?

Dr Karl’s a big fan. I think he won one once. If, like me, you like pop science and Australian Dr’s then you’ll love his podcast.
