Link – An Installation by Kimchi and Chips


Built by Kimchi and Chips for Design Korea 2010, link is an interactive installation where people record their stories into a cityscape of cardboard boxes. This reactive space requests and shares your story with others. By inputting videos of yourself into the installation, it builds a scene representing the presence of everybody within the exhibition.

have an excellent deconstruction of the installation.
KC built upon their original installation for Coffee Kitchen in where they had a collection of boxes from the coffee shop mugs, and using 2 projectors, the installation sent images to the faces of these boxes. A camera is used to stream patrons faces onto the boxes, which can then be controlled by their mobile phone:
