Ice Projects, a 64-foot ice castle by Roger Hanson

Computer programmer, Roger Hanson builds 64-foot ice castle in his back yard using a complex robotic hose system and water recycled from his geo-thermal home heating unit.

Instead of dumping the water into the river, Roger uses it for the ice sculpture.

The robot that directs the spray is made from two antenna rotators. One rotator is attached to the other to allow azimuth and elevation motion. These antenna rotators are controlled by a computer using software that Roger created.
